McCain Food’s facility in Wisconsin Rapids/Plover, Wisconsin is a large-scale food processing plant, employing approximately 500 employees. This site specializes in the production of french fries and mashed potatoes and produces roughly 3 million pounds of french fries a day!
To assist supervision throughout the entire production operation of the Plover facility on assigned line. To continually improve the cost per pound of all products through volume improvements, waste minimization, labor utilization, and ingredient/supply usage optimization while assuring optimal product quality. To continually strive to maintain a safe work environment. To continually reduce manufacturing costs through capital projects, procedural improvements, and development of an empowered work force. To utilize interpersonal and developmental skills to continually improve the morale and capability of production employees. To assure that employees are adequately trained to accomplish the facility’s goals. And to assure that employees are recognized and held accountable for their contribution to these goals.
1.Coordinating and optimizing packaging and processing equipment utilization.
2.All raw product preparation ( delivery, peeling, cutting, sizing, defect removal, product color, freezing, etc.).
3.Train, provide guidance, and direct employees in a manner that assures maximum development and utilization of their talents through the continuous improvement concept.
4.Labor requirements and adjustments.
5.Prioritize, initiate, and coordinate problem-solving efforts to improve the effectiveness of the line.
7.As a member of the leadership team at the facility, your participation in the continuous improvement process is expected. This includes taking an active role in process improvement initiatives, employee training and upgrading your current skill base.
- Proficiency with the Excel and MS Office suite of tools is necessary.
- Requires effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Coordination is required between this position and the Production Manager, Shift Managers, Maintenance Department, Field Department, Warehousing, Dry Supply, Purchasing, Human Resources, and Technical Services
- Education: Bachelor’s degree (BA) from a four-year college or university.
- Experience: Three to four years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Frequent: Sitting at a desk. Walking, bending at the waist, squatting, kneeling, and twisting at the neck and waist. Walking up and down a flight of stairs.
